Both the Central and Southeast police substations represent efforts in more water efficient plant selection and design. The plans utilized limited areas of turf instead using a greater selection of drought tolerant shrubs such as hesperaloe and succulents. Additionally, stone mulch was used as an alternative groundcover material.
